Dr. Katharina Renken presents the DiSC Model (Dominance, influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness) am 17.03.2021

19:00

Dear WISTAs and WISTAs-to be,

Dr. Katharina Renken is presenting the DiSC Model.

History: DISC is a quadrant behavioral model based on the work of Dr. William Moulton Marston (1893-1947) to examine the behavior of individuals in their environment or within a specific situation.

Agenda for the evening:

In my presentation, I will explain the four main personality dimensions/traits within the DiSC model, which are dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness. In the second part, we will take the test together via an online (free) webpage, so participants can learn about their own personality traits. In the third part of the presentation, we will then apply this knowledge to negotiations settings on some key examples of each personality trait (“How to convince this person in negotiations” will be the leading question).

Aim:

(1) Being able to make a reasonable assessment about the key drivers and motives of your counterpart may help you to steer negotiations into a more favorable outcome for you.

(2) Knowing your own personality traits better, may also allow you to be more self-aware in negotiations on your end.

Organization:

(1) Throughout the presentation, you will not be asked to share your own test result,
so you can keep it private.

(2) The presentation is prepared in English, however if there are only German speaking participants in the meeting that prefer the presentation held in German, I am able to switch to German for the spoken part – I will do a quick evaluation of language preference in the beginning of the meeting.

Recommendation:

You may want to follow the presentation on a computer/laptop/tablet, as that may make it easier for you to do the self-test in the middle of the evening.

Duration:

I am planning for about 1.5 hours.

The Link to the Zoom Meeting will be send prior to the event.

Regards

Franziska Eckhoff
