Teilnehmer Interview Studie AAI mit Hunden gesucht (englisch)

Dear AAT expert,

I am reaching out to you because you have been recommended as an Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) expert, and I am looking for AAT specialists willing to participate in my study.

To shortly introduce myself - my name is Sara Brglez, and I am a master’s student at the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience, Maastricht University, Netherlands. For my master thesis, I would like to do an empirical study by interviewing experts who work with dogs in Animal Assisted Therapy.

I have been interested in Animal Assisted Therapy since my studies at UP Famnit, Slovenia, where I completed a bachelor’s degree in biopsychology. For my bachelor thesis, I conducted a systematic review titled Animal-Assisted Therapy as a preventive measure for suicidal behavior in youth.

During this assignment, I became even more amazed by AAT and gained valuable insights into this incredible field, one of which was the need for further research. Therefore, I decided to continue my research by learning more about the therapists working in AAT. More precisely, I would like to assess what is necessary from the therapist’s perspective for the therapy, which includes therapy animals,  

to be effective and beneficial in various clientele, what makes AAT distinguishable from other types of treatment, and your perception of the field.

That is why I would need your help and expertise. I’m looking for therapists who are conducting AAT and are willing to participate in one online interview (30-60 minutes) about their work in AAT. The interview will be recorded and transcribed for research purposes, and all acquired data will be coded and anonymous. An informed letter of consent will be signed before the start of the interview.
