we would like to start the first rehearsal after the summer break and with a new conductor as a slightly bigger event than usual. Additionally, after the Corona pandemic, we would like to grow back to our former size of 60 members. Please sign up to join the rehearsal. See you soon!

in order to plan the participants according to the venue capacity we will plan the first 4 rehearsals (incl. Kick-off) as events to sign up to. Mid of October we will have auditions for newbies and then go back to the normal rehearsal attendance for members. 

For existing members: please only sign up if you really intend to come on the date indicated, because like that we give more newbies the chance to sneak in. As soon as you've been in one of the first 4 rehearsals and collected your music you count as "active". If you don't show up until mid of October I will assume you are sitting out.

For newbies: sign up if you are interested and really intend to come. Make sure you can attend the first rehearsals to find out whether we fit to each other. After 3-4 rehearsals you will have an audition (around mid of October) to become an official member. We can take on several new members, but also have a cap at 53 singers in total.

Apologies for the confusion or disappointment caused by my first email - I made a mistake by using the structure set up for the earlier EWA, which occurred during the initial 4 week trial period.

Christmas never sounded this good! ESME e.V. (English – Speaking Music Ensembles) invites you to the most wonderful time of the year at our 2022 winter concert. The ESME Singers, the ESME Orchestra and the Resident Alien Big Band will all be on stage to make sure you have a jolly evening with festive Christmas music from all around the world.

How to become a member and what to pay?

First, just join some rehearsals so that we can get to know each other. After usually 3-4 rehearsals, we have a little audition to find out to which voice you would fit best. Afterwards you would sign a membership contract and - HURRAAAAYYY - become an ESMate. We are an amateur choir, i.e. we don't expect you to have profound music knowledge or sight-read. Just hit possibly 95% of the notes so as not to disturb anybody else and make our performances enjoyable for our audience. And social life is at least as important to us than a nice singing performance.

We are a non-profit Verein and depend on member's contributions to keep the organization running. This means also, that you will have to pay a 50 Euro annual membership fee (30 Euros reduced) and a subscription of 60 Euros (30 Euros reduced) for each season you are taking part in.

You can get reduced fees if you are a student, unemployed or retired. Just need proof.
